The Gilets verts committee is made up of young teenagers who are concerned about the environment, developing their sense of eco-citizenship through fun workshops, training and bike rides to promote green travel. The committee started in 2019 with bike towing outings and since then, the committee has multiplied awareness, information and mobilization opportunities such as the participation in the Montreal Arts Festival, thanks to their used bike customization project.
In 2020, Parole d’excluEs produced a video on the Gilets verts through the story of two young girls, members of this committee, who wish to improve the living conditions of the communities in the neighbourhood, in relation to the issues of greening, environment and ecology.
